haha, great video! loved the ending. BTW I don't know if you've implemented this, but you CAN turn without going forward or reverse. Looks like you didn't in the video, so not sure if you can or not...

Coded it in about a week ago
I have to fix some bytes encoding/decoding problems in networking code and we'll start coding online battles.
BTW. Test server's hardware is set up and waiting

Today we've been working on: - client-server-client based connection (sending player coords from client to client) - executing game logic independently of game framerate (if you have potato instead of PC, you won't have any issues connected with game logic)

very nice! The jittery movement is simply a homage to RR's good ol' lag.
I've been working on some models and only have a few more weapons to go! Might get them all done in 1-3 days
@IGIT Need to get some sleep, had a crazy day, but will send some images later today. Edit:I might have a problem with Saw, the thing is, that weapon was bugged to me (fun fact for a couple of years me and my bro thought saw is some kind of battery regenerating weapon, more like degenerating lol, because some graphic failure in the game caused the saw to be invisible on our computer, it also couldn't damage us, long live hacks), think we had it somewhere in the tournament page though. (guess it was deleted)

I had a (deployed) mini robot picture somewhere, but I think I moved it to outer storage, will post later, hope this keeps you busy, remote charges should be there as well, but they are no different than on preview, just with color.

So no more 1,2,3 buttons to change view? From close to far? I liked that fixated view, took skill to drive backwards without hitting walls, especially tunnels Think I could drive that arena with my eyes closed at one point, on the side note I think I actually tried that lol.
It was probably my comp glitch, same that made saw disappear...you can see the other bot has it. Edit: Remember the preferred 3d renderer settings? I remember that one could mess with razors as it was the most obvious change, don't remember if that's how I got saw to show up for some period, maybe that's what affected it.
There were DirectX 5, 7 and OpenGL if I remember correctly.
How camera changing on 1, 2, 3 worked? I never had a rear camera.
By the way, chat domain from top menu is available for registration, but due to my living place I'm unable to do that (and it detects VPNs, tried them). I'm thinking about configuring an IRC server on my Banana Pi, or creating channel on freenode so we can chat. What do you think?
The camera on 1 was close view, like cockpit view in racing games, on 2 you could see the rear, on 3 you looked at your bot from distance. Rear view activated with b, it wasn't really handy, but some people did use it, it was very nice for static camera as it could be set up with 0 to lock on the last point it was at, also making the screen clear, I mean without the greened out stuff you could see on mini-robot and spy cam as well.
Here, watch this old video I made, it also has some nice views and shows training bug when you ran out of battery you could just drive off without falling:
The one with remote charge in it isn't even my screenshot, I'll look into something more.
Edit: Looked through tons of pictures, guess that's the only one I have of remotes, think looking through videos could result in more luck.

Hmm... don't really know much about that stuff. I suppose freenode would be the simplest route?

Thanks to digit for the awesome work he did. He created I think all the models from the original game.

About network code development: we have working enemy position interpolation coded. That means no more choppy teleportation instead of real movement. Except falling, there is no interpolation on Y axis yet, but that's an easy fix.
Next in line are waiting non-essential triggers such as weapons animations and firepit. Currently damage is done, but only client-side. We have to now send data to the server and server needs to push animation triggers to other player.

The force field is actually really difficult... the others shouldn't be too much of a problem...

It has a lot of good references, but as you can see, he does not stay on many weapons for a 180 view. The force field is geometric, but I am not sure how I can replicate it in blender...
in battle I'm pretty sure the force field is just a green sphere surrounding the robot.
Yeah, it's just a green sphere, but when u turn it on it expands and covers the whole bot, when u turn it off it shrinks back. I might have some screenshots of it in action.
I was working with the audio from the video and have to say that it's pretty bad quality, cleaning doesn't give good results, can only get transients from it, guess will somehow blend it in. Was trying to make the power axe hit sound (apparently spear gun has the same sound). But right now it sounds more like the wall bump sound, which is a win cause I don't have to make that 1 now. God I'm bad at this...
