Challenge from garage? Wth IGIT? Like my bro said one could change his setup in those 20s, that's playing with fire, I think it wasn't an option for a reason there.

Don't worry, you'll have to click that you're ready, and only then right panel with lobby will slide out. You will still be able to paint, change parts etc. while listed in lobby, but you won't be able to do it after challenge message appears, so oponent battles what he saw when choosing you.

I actually just imagined this situation - you are in garage, with ready ticked, you take out all robot parts and try to put new ones on, someone challenges you, you can't add anything new while they keep on challenging, this messes with whatever you were trying to do, it would still work ok for the paintshop, but changing setup should be disabled as well once you are in that mode. In the original you could open two tabs, go to lobby from one and edit your setup from the second, it would even apply the changes that would prevent you from entering the lobby at all, like having no engine, battery or anything at all. If you simply disable any setup changes while you are in lobby or lobby mode in garage, it would prevent a lot of bug possibilities.

You can always close lobby tab. I'm thinking about it, maybe the best way would be to prevent changing parts, but to allow buying/selling and painting while in lobby?

You might also want to try something similar to how runescape handles duels.
You can challenge someone; and if they accept you are both taken to an interface where you can select which items to ban. Both players are shown which items the other is using, and are able to accept/decline again based on what their oppenent is using. You can chat between each other during this time and also add staking where the winner gets all.
That would add another step, and then it's pointless (at least for me) to remove lobby. I'm still thinking how to do this the best way possible. I'm also thinking about "quick match"- when you click it, you are matched with 1st person who also clicked it and has the same rank you do.
BTW. check out the blog, I'm implementing weapons and Farum is sleeping
Also, don't you think that bot with loaded drill and dagger at once looks kinda badass?

Dagger was actually back weapon, just bad model placing.
I always wondered about hybrid weapons... Dagger with each spike being a drill Spear gun with guided/heat-seaking misiles Mini bot with additional mini-weapons Claw + Powerax (scorpion combo) Wheels with spikes
Oh, just another random thought: Wouldn't it be cool if you could use the oil spreader and light it on fire using the flame thrower? Â

Not a bad idea, but this one is going to the extended mode (along with other maps etc) in the future. For now we are rebuilding RR- not even rearmed, this one comes after we have "basic" version up and running (at least playable public alpha version).
Oh, pre-rearmed? I remember discovering a good setup back then just to be hit with rearmed a couple of days later, so couldn't really try it out much, then razor mayhem begun.
Well, our pre-rearmed won't last long, so the story could repeat. We'll make you feel like you're kid again
edit. Working on some AI. This is the most stupid algorithm, it just tries to ram the player (ignoring dangers, walls, the elevator). Outcome is hilarious:
I remember that PJ looking a lot better on small chassi, it's no problem at all

Ditto what jork said. I'l also be very busy in the next couple of weeks - so my apologies again for not getting the textures done. I have the outlines ready, I just need to add the colors and metalic effect and it should be good enough...

Do your thing bud, we won't go anywhere. I'm not very active on discussions, but I'm always lurking around ready to log on that new RR and demolish jork like I did on RR3. Bad game, good times. At least with your remake of the game it'll be "awesome game, jork is bad" I mean, "awesome times".
Good luck with whatever you're up to. I wish we could financially support you guys for this project. Maybe on your next big project, right?
