Robot Kampen Closing

As many of you might know, Blip (www.blip.se) is the Swedish website that hosts Robot Kampen, the Swedish version of Robot Rage. It appears to be hosted from this account: http://blip.se/person.aspx?pid=d6a088fb-621a-446e-9b53-c55a00380315. Recently I received an email from their newsletter with the following announcement(original in Swedish and translated into English)...

As you may have read on our sites, we regret to announce the Blip and Blipville closure from the end of 2010/11. It is with sadness in our hearts we must inform you of this. We have for several years managed the game community Blip.se and the virtual world Blipville, our sites have been highly appreciated by you, our dedicated users.

Since our last e-mail mailing unfortunately did not reach any address do we do this mailing back and extends the same time period for the repayment. In order to get money back for unused Premium Days and coins, you can now until Thursday, December 23 23:59 still send in your form for reimbursement. It is important that we get the form by December 23.

What this means for our members?
Both Blip and Blipville closure at the end of the year (31 December 2010). Until there is both Blip.se and Blipville remain as usual, except that it will no longer be able to make new purchases. The users and members who have paid the premium, which extend beyond 31 December 2010, and / or have outstanding and unused virtual coins, that is the currency used on Blip and Blipville, can get their money back.

How it changes on the site?
No major changes at the sites will be done. The people who work with Blip and Blipville on TV4 will be offered other services in TV4. Our game hosts will, in so far as they wish, to remain in their respective games, until 31 December. No new hosts will be added.

Will it get back the money you paid as a user / member of Blip.se and Blipville?
Yes, values above $ 100 in Premium Days that extend beyond 31 December 2010, or in unused virtual coins can be returned (we can not pay any. Winnings in poker). In order to get their money back, you as a member fill out a form on which to base on, and to whom, money refunded. To access this form, please contact our support at support@blip.se. Values of 99 dollars and less, we offer instead a two-month free usage of TV4 Anytime. The deadline to apply for a refund is December 15. Do you have multiple accounts, you need to submit one form for each account, you can not enter more than one account on a Form.

What happens to those who have active subscriptions in Blipville?
We will terminate all active subscriptions, you as a customer need not enter and exit, this is thus automatically from our side in October.

Why does not anyone else over the running of sites?
We have over a long period been in discussions with several parties regarding Blip and Blipville. Unfortunately we have not managed to reach a solution that suits all parties.

Needless to say, it seems so far that this is the end of Robot Kampen. Does anyone else have any more information about this? What are your thoughts?

Sad news, great to have someone keeping eye out to things like thses.What I wonder is, who is hosting our RR site right now ? I mean they don't sell anything so why are they evenb keeping it online ? Not that I am not thankfull, just curious

You mean the normal version of Robot Rage? Well Miniclip has a lot of other minor games, which don't make money directly from players, so it must be from advertising I suppose. Too bad it's the end of Robot Kampen though. Today is a sad day...

That's what happens when they advertise the wrong games, sad but true.
